150213-N-RC734-020 PACIFIC OCEAN (Feb. 13, 2015)- Capt. John Menoni, commanding officer of amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22), awards U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Arielle Coleman, from Gainesville, Florida, with her Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS) certificate during an awards ceremony. Coleman was recognized as San Diego’s very first Marine to earn the qualification. San Diego, part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, is returning to homeport San Diego with the embarked 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, following a seven-month maiden deployment to the Western Pacific and the U.S. Central Command areas of operation.
