150213-N-RC734-035 PACIFIC OCEAN (Feb. 13, 2015)- U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Arielle Coleman, from Gainesville, Florida, receives her Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS) insignia pin during an awards ceremony aboard amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22). While Coleman is not formally authorized to wear the insignia as part of the Marine Corps uniform, she was recognized as San Diego’s very first Marine to earn the qualification for her service record. San Diego, part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, is returning to homeport San Diego with the embarked 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, following a seven-month maiden deployment to the Western Pacific and the U.S. Central Command areas of operation.
