The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District and Harris County Flood Control District will start work on the Greens Bayou Flood Damage Reduction Project in north Harris County this year. Under a Project Partnership Agreement, the Corps will manage, design and build the project. The HCFCD will buy land, easements and rights-of-way; relocate utilities; and then operate and maintain the project after construction. The cost share will be approximately 75 percent federal and 25 percent local.
