A U.S. Army Small Unit Support Vehicle, or SUSV, descends to the ground aboard a 28-foot pallet and under large parachute canopies after being extracted from a U.S. Air Force C-17 Globe master III aircraft during Exercise Spartan Pegasus Feb. 24, 2015 at Deadhorse, Alaska. The extremely cold demonstration in airborne operations and arctic mobility took place in one of the northern-most territories of Alaska, well north of the Earth’s Arctic Circle. The average winter temperatures in the area for this time of year range from 23 degrees below zero to 11 degrees below zero. Fifty-seven degrees below zero is the record low in February, and in January of 1989, nearby Prudhoe Bay marked a wind-chill reading of 96 below zero. (U.S. Army photo by Capt. Chase Spears/Released)
