The ceremony awarded members of the U.S. military, U.S. Department of Defense and the Okinawa Prefectural Police Department for their services and assistance in keeping Okinawa safe throughout the year. “You have shown a deep understanding of police activities and cooperated with police in the solution of various types of incidents and accidents in 2014,” said Chibana. “I hereby take great pleasure in presenting this letter of appreciation along with a commemorative memento as a token of our sincere gratitude.” Chibana is the assistant commissioner chief with the Okinawa City Police Station, Prefectural Police Department. Rogers is a native of Twentynine Palms, Calif., and a criminal investigator with the Criminal Investigation Division, Provost Marshal’s Office, Marine Corps Installations Pacific-Marine Corps Base Camp Butler, Japan.
