A victim of an “earthquake” has to be escorted by two agents of the Puerto Rico Police Department after he started a disturbance demanding to see his family members during Operation Borinqueneer Response at the municipality of Ponce on March 18. This U.S. Northern Command and National Guard Bureau-sponsored operation is a special focus event for the Puerto Rico National Guard with an estimated cost of $1.5 million. It will consist of a series of training exercises designed to evaluate and enhance the readiness of the National Guard in performing state roles and responsibilities when working with other guards, local and state civilian and military emergency response agencies.
