Cameron Geertsema shows Joan (Shields) Bennett the memorial to her late husband, Construction Mechanic 3rd Class Marvin Shields, on the quarter deck in the battalion’s headquarters building on Camp Marvin G. Shields in Okinawa. Marvin Shields is the only Seabee to have been awarded the Medal of Honor and the camp was named in his honor.
