Coast Guard Petty Officer 1st Class Cedric Poe, a gunner's mate aboard the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Legare, demonstrates the correct way to fire a MK-124 day/night signaling flare, from the flight deck during recent survival equipment training July 4, 2009. The crew celebrated the Fourth of July, while underway to countries off the west and central coast of African in support of the African Partnership Station.
