Bateman, a reconnaissance Marine with 2nd Marine Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, gathers up his parachute, while wading in water, after jumping out of a CH-53 Sea Stallion helicopter into Onslow Bay off the coast of Camp Lejeune, N.C., July 21.
