150425-N-VC236-002 ARABIAN GULF (April 25, 2015) - Sailors assigned to the guided-missile destroyer USS Farragut (DDG 99) clean the ship's Mk 45 5-inch lightweight gun during a freshwater washdown. The washdown helps prevent corrosion of the ship's metal due to exposure to salt water. Farragut is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations conducting maritime security operations.
