Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates shakes hands with Staff Sgt. Stephen Claybourne, a master driver from Detroit, Mich., assigned to the 121st Brigade Support Battalion; and meets with other Soldiers of 4th Brigade, 1st Armored Division during his visit to Contingency Operating Base Adder, Iraq, July 28. Soldiers had an opportunity to brief Gates on their partnership role with Iraqi security force units to support the "advisory and assistance" mission taken on by the brigade. The 4th Brigade, 1st Armored Division "Highlander" is deployed out of Fort Bliss, Texas. Claybourne earned a coveted "challenge coin" from Gates for his outstanding leadership and initiative in designing a new equipment training course for the Iraqi army during the fielding of cargo trucks.
