Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates shakes hands with Army 1st Lt. James Choi, a military police officer from Queens, N.Y., assigned to the 4th Special Troops Battalion during his visit to Contingency Operating Base Adder, Iraq, July 28. Soldiers had an opportunity to brief Gates on their partnership role with Iraqi security force units to support the "advisory and assistance" mission taken on by the brigade. The 4th Brigade, 1st Armored Division "Highlander" is deployed out of Fort Bliss, Texas. Choi earned a coveted "challenge coin" from Gates for his leadership role for base camp security.
