The Marines of Engineer Company use the tools of their trade -- plywood, nails and cement -- to make life easier for the soldiers of the Iraqi's 8th Motor Transportation Regiment, which is currently at Al Asad Air Base. Construction is wrapping up on a three-bay maintenance structure for the mechanics, allowing them to work on their vehicles sheltered from the sun, wind and dust that are common in this area in northwest Iraq. The 8th MTR is training with a military transition team here to improve its logistics capabilities to become a viable military unit as its country seeks freedom.
