The flag party, Able Seaman Joel Hadler, AB Nathan Bolstead and AB Gareth Baker raised the Australian and American national ensigns during a memorial service commemorating the 73rd Anniversary of the Battle of the Coral Sea, May 8 at USS Peary Gun Memorial, Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. The Battle of the Coral Sea was a series of naval engagements, between the U.S. and Australia against Japan, which occurred May 4 to May 8, 1942 on the northeast coast of Australia. Marine community engagements in the Northern Territory add depth to our relationship with Australia to promote global and regional peace and prosperity, continuing our tradition of more than 100 years. The flag party is with Attack Four, HMAS Coonawarra, Royal Australian Navy, Australian Defence Force. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Reba James/Released)
