The nearly 2000 year old Arch still stands strong against the sky. The arch is one of the oldest in the world and one of Iraq's most ancient and symbolic ruins. During the 1990's a large section of the roof was fell through and many of the ancient stones were carried away by nearby residents to be used on homes and walls.
