Capt. Jacqueline Asis, commander of Forward Support Company F, supporting 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, is presented the U.S. Forces Command Maj. Gen. Aubrey “Red” Newman Award March 12 by Col. Joseph McGee, deputy commanding general for support, 1st Cavalry Division. The award recognizes outstanding junior leaders who demonstrate a commitment to developing their Soldiers. “It was great to be honored for it, but honestly I could not have done it without the support of great Soldiers, great Families, great peers, and great mentors,” said Asis, a native of Cornwall, New York.
