Sgt. 1st Class Ryan Feller, a platoon sergeant with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, is presented the U.S. Forces Command Maj. Gen. Aubrey “Red” Newman Award March 12 by Col. Joseph McGee, deputy commanding general for support, 1st Cavalry Division. The award recognizes outstanding junior leaders who demonstrate a commitment to developing their Soldiers. During the 1st Cavalry Division Distinguished Service Recognition Ceremony, leaders recognized retirees, presented a Gold Star Organization Award, presented three Red Newman Awards, recognized the division’s volunteer of the quarter, and retired a military working horse and mule.
