'The Kite Runner' by Khaled Hosseini is a highly praised story of redemption and the Afghan culture. The story is told by the main character, Amir, and focuses on his journeys to and from Afghanistan and the United States. As a child, he betrays someone very loyal to him and he seeks to redeem himself and find 'a way to be good again.' The 371-page book is a highly-recommended read by the commanding general of the 1st Marine Logistics Group, Brig. Gen. Charles L. Hudson.
