The iRobot 510 PackBot performs a simulated reconnaissance and bomb disposal mission while being operated by a middle school student as part of the 570th Sapper Company, 864th Engineer Battalion, 555th Engineer Brigade’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, or STEM, partnership program Pioneer Middle school May 29, 2015, DuPont, Wash. These types of programs have been done with high school students, but this is the brigade’s first program to be instituted with a focus on middle school.
