Kevin Smith prepare a batch of Samorin, a treatment for sleeping sickness disease that is spread by the tsetse fly, during a veterinary civic action project in a rural village in Tanga, Aug. 17. Lausier and Smith are attached to the 360th Civil Affairs Brigade Functional Specialty Team based in Camp Lemonier, Djibouti. This is the final phase of operation HONEST TALON, a three-phase VETCAP sponsored through the collaborative efforts of Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa, the Tanzanian government and the U.S Embassy in Tanzania.
