Squadron Leader Garry Brown, Royal Air Force C-130 Force Element commander, performs a pre-flight inspection here, Aug. 27. The primary role of the RAF is to provide troops in the area of responsibility with ammunition and supplies, as well as transporting wounded and fallen British service members. Brown is a native of Galashiels, Scotland, and is deployed in support of Operation TELIC, the UK's activity in Iraq, and Operation HERRICK, the UK support to ISAF activity in Afghanistan.
