Odom, who speaks five languages, was named the Marine Corps language professional of the year for her role as a linguist while operating in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The QDR panel's visit to II MEF was to provide its members with an overview of Marine Corps amphibious capabilities and irregular warfare training.
