Army Spc. Rebecca L. Brown (left), a Rochester Hills, Mich., native serving as an animal care specialist for Public Health Command District-Japan (PHCD-J), helps Army Sgt. Shameko L. Ragsdale (right), a fellow animal care specialist with PHCD-J, don her Joint Service Lightweight Integrated Suit Technology (JSLIST) during a training event held June 12, 2015, at Camp Fuji, Japan. As a product of the U.S. military's endeavor to provide every service member with a common set of protective garments, JSLIST offers full-body protection against chemical and biological agents, battlefield contaminants, radioactive fallout particles. Soldiers stationed in Japan must complete a course on how to wear, use and maintain their JSLIST garments and gas mask twice a year to confirm that they can put on a complete JSLIST set in eight minutes or less.
