OFF CALABASH CAY, Belize, (June 18, 2015) Sailors aboard the Mexican navy ship Independencia participate in a safety "FOD" walkdown to collect any foreign objects on deck prior to launching a Panther helicopter that will provide aerial coverage during a vessel boarding, search and seizure (VBSS) exercise with British vessel HMS Severn during Tradewinds 2015 Phase Two. The combined, joint U.S. Southern Command-sponsored exercise strengthens the capacity of Caribbean nations to respond to natural disasters, humanitarian crises and counter transnational organized crime.
