ARABIAN SEA (June 23, 2015) U.S. Marine Cpl. Ryan Jackson instructs Marines on how to teach a Marine Corps Martial Arts Course. Jackson is a rifleman and a martial arts instructor trainer with Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Jackson goes above and beyond his normal duties as a rifleman to take on the challenge of being an instructor trainer for MCMAP. "This helps them build as a team to work better with their peers, subordnants and their leaders." said Jackson. USS Anchorage (LPD 23): Anchorage is part of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 15th MEU, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
