Maj. Tom Clinton, the senior watch officer in the Marine Expeditionary Brigade-Afghanistan's combat operations center, was awarded the Bronze Star Medal during a ceremony at Camp Leatherneck, Helmand province, Afghanistan, Sept. 15. He received the award for actions from April to September 2008, while serving as the executive officer of Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit. The Swampscott, Mass., native's current deployment to Helmand province represents his seventh tour.
