    The U.S. Naval War College (NWC) command cutter transits the Newport harbor in Newport, R.I. The NWC command cutter was built by the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard in February 1957, is 50 feet in length with a beam of 13.5 feet, and is made of oak with double-planked Alaskan cedar sides and teak decks. She weighs 20 tons, has a draft of 4.5 feet and has a top speed of 12.5 knots.
