Staff Sgt. Casey Grissett (left), and Sgt. Nick Green (center), both of the 1st Squadron, 131st Cavalry, Alabama Army National Guard, lead their joint team of cavalry troopers and their host nation counterparts from the 528th Light Reconnaissance Battalion, Romanian Land Force, during a joint area reconnaissance training mission of Operation Red Dragon 15 on June 13, 2015, at Babadag Training Area, Romania. Operation Red Dragon is a training exercise conducted between the 131st Cavalry, Alabama Army National Guard and the 528th Light Reconnaissance Battalion, Romanian Land Force in an effort to build stronger ties between American and Romanian Forces. Operation Red Dragon is part of Operation Atlantic Resolve. Operation Atlantic Resolve is a demonstration of continued U.S. commitment to the collective security of NATO and to enduring peace and stability in the region, in light of Russia's illegal actions in Ukraine. U.S. Army Europe is leading the Operation Atlantic Resolve enhanced land force, multinational training and security cooperation activities taking place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to ensure multinational interoperability, strengthen relationships among allied militaries, contribute to regional stability and demonstrate U.S. commitment to NATO.
