Airman 1st Class Zachary Mikolajczyk, 22nd Training Squadron Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape specialist, speaks with S-V-80-A combat survival students about how a fire in an isolated event is a ‘nicety’ and not a necessity to survival June 13, 2015, in the Colville National Forest, Wash. The students are asked to demonstrate the techniques required to build a fire in a variety of situations. The students learned a variety of survival skills including shelter building, fire craft and water procurement.
