Maintainers from the Royal Malaysian Air Force find shade under a C-17 Globemaster III from Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska, during the Thunderbirds air show in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Oct. 3. The Elmendorf C-17 crew and another from Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, are tasked with getting the team to nine venues throughout the Pacific including Australia, Thailand, Japan and South Korea. The Thunderbirds tour is designed to foster friendships with U.S. allies in the region, which helps to promote security and stability throughout the Pacifc.
