CAMP LEMONNIER, Djibouti (Aug. 2, 2015) U.S. Marine Staff Sgt. Shawn Reed, left, pins new rank onto Sgt. Ryan Jackson after Jackson was meritoriously promoted to the rank of sergeant. Jackson is a squad leader with Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Elements of the 15th MEU are ashore in Djibouti for sustainment training to maintain and enhance the skills they developed during their pre-deployment training period. The 15th MEU is currently deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt.
