Soldiers with Destined Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, observe mortar explosions through binoculars from an observation tower during a mortar call for fire live exercise, Estonia, Aug. 7, as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve. The Estonian and American Soldiers practiced call for fire procedures, while learning that there are more similarities than differences in how each NATO ally conducts call for fire operations, thereby creating a sense of universal military language amongst the counterparts despite language barriers. Operation Atlantic Resolve is a demonstration of the United States’ continued commitment to the collective security of NATO and dedication to the enduring peace and stability in the region.
