Ka‘ahanui finished the 500-meter swim, 11-mile bike ride and 5-kilometer run in first place, with an overall time of 58 minutes, 27 seconds. Service members could earn points in the 101 Days of Summer Program by participating in this event. The races of the Commanding Officer’s Fitness Series help support the mission of Marine Corps Community Services Hawaii, which is to contribute to the readiness and retention of Marines, Sailors and families aboard MCB Hawaii by providing fitness and recreation programs, as well as business activities in garrison and deployed environments.
