INDIAN OCEAN (Aug. 4, 2015) U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Jeremiah Zapata fires at a target with an M45 1911A1 pistol aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2). Zapata is a corpsman with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Maritime Raid Force security element. These Marines practice slow-fire shooting to enhance their fundamentals and accuracy. The 15th MEU is embarked on the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and deployed to maintain regional security in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
