The Navy Band renders a hand salute during the commissioning of the USS USS Wayne E. Meyer during its commissioning ceremony Oct. 10 in historical Penn's Landing in Philadelphia. Rear Adm. Wayne E. Meyer known as the Father of Aegis was responsible for pioneering the Aegis Weapons System. He passed away just one month shy of his ship's commissioning.
