Flight medics with C Company (Rear), 1st Battalion, 171st Aviation Regiment instruct Soldiers of the 720th Transportation Company on how to properly secure and lift a litter. The Soldiers were conducting a Joint Training Exercise with two other companies of the New Mexico National Guard’s 93rd Brigade. The goal was to improve the efficiency of aeromedical evacuation from point-of-injury to patient stabilization at a Forward Surgical Team (Role II+) hospital. The companies participating were the 720th Transportation Company with detachments from Las Vegas and Santa Fe, New Mexico Medical Detachment, 1209th Area Support Medical Company, and C Company (Rear), 1st Battalion, 171st Aviation Regiment.
