An audience of military and civilian leaders within the pacific community listen as Chairman of the U. S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Michael Mullen says a few words before U.S. Navy Admiral Robert F. Willard assumes control of Pacific Command at while at Nimitz-MacArthur Pacific Command Center on Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii, Oct. 19. Adm. Willard was given command by Secretary of Defense Robert Gates after the official retirement of the former commander, Adm. Timothy Keating.
