Soldiers shield themselves from the rotor wash as an Army Reserve CH-47 Chinook lands at the forward operating base for Natural Fire 10, a partnership and humanitarian exercise. The Chinooks of D Co., 7-158th Aviation Regiment are responsible for the air transit of all personnel and supplies from Entebbe to Kitgum, about a 200 mile distance that can take over 10 hours by road –but only two in the air. D Co. is the only aviation unit supporting U.S. Army Africa's Natural Fire 10, a partnership exercise with Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, Tanzania and Rwanda. Natural Fire is an opportunity for these East African nations and the U.S. military to train side by side and work together on a humanitarian assistance mission.
