Lt. Col. Hise Gibson (left), commander, 3rd General Support Aviation Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, and Lt. Col. Chris McKenna, commander, 450th Tactical Helicopter Squadron, 1st Wing Kingston, share their final thoughts after concluding McKenna’s pre-deployment site survey (PDSS) on Simmons Airfield, N.C., Sept 9. Both commanders used the PDSS to find methods and solutions to provide aviation support for an upcoming joint training exercise with elements of 3rd Royal Canadian Regiment (3RCR) and 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division. The joint training exercise will enhance the ability of the 82nd CAB and partner nation to deliver a credible capability to work together to deliver rapid-response bilateral.
