LCU 1655 is embarking Marines and equipment from the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit for transportation to the amphibious assault ship USS Nassau (LHA 4). LCU 1655, assigned to Assault Craft Unit 4, and the 24th MEU are embarking aboard Nassau for a Composite Unit Training Exercise. COMPTUEX is a routine training exercise conducted by U.S. 2nd Fleet off the East Coast from Virginia to Florida.
