Cody Geiger fire support specialist, Charlie Battery, 3rd Battalion, 319 Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division Artillery, monitors his radio before calling a close combat attack mission during a training exercise utilizing AH-64 Apaches assigned to 1st Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia on Sept. 17. “This is an awesome experience to have this opportunity to conduct training with Apache helicopters on station,” said Geiger. “This is my first time as a FSO (fire support observer) communicating with an aircraft.”
