U.S. Army paratroopers stand in formation during a memorial hosted to commemorate the Soldiers who gave their lives crossing the Waal River Sept. 17-20, 1944. The ceremony was part of a series of combined airborne operations and ceremonies to commemorate Market Garden, the largest airborne operation in history, taking place over Sept. 17-20, 1944.
