Cpl. Joshua Gonzalez, a watercraft engineer from San Juan, Puerto Rico, cleans out the ballast pump strainer on board the LSV-6 James A. Loux, Oct. 16, in Kuwait. "It's loud down here in the engine room," yelled Gonzalez. "But you have to keep the lines clear or we'll have problems underway." The LSV-6 is a Logistics Support Vessel which carries cargo and/or equipment throughout the theater in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. LSV-6 has a very important role in supporting the responsible drawdown of Iraq and the reset of equipment into Afghanistan.
