GULF OF ADEN (Sept. 25, 2015) Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Tamarekia Singleton stands as a safety observer aboard Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47) during a replenishment at sea (RAS) with the Military Sealift Command dry cargo/ammunition ship USNS Carl Brashear (T-AKE 7). Rushmore is part of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
