SANTA RITA, Guam (Sept. 16,, 2015) Chief Logistics Specialist Toni Taylor (SW/AW) of submarine tender USS Emory S. Land receives her Chief anchors, the symbol of the United States Navy Chief, from her cousin, role model, and former naval officer Gunnar McFadden. Receiving the anchors is part of Taylor’s final steps in her transformation into a Chief as part of a time honored tradition of the U.S. Navy. Emory S. Land is a forward deployed expeditionary submarine tender on an extended deployment conducting coordinated tended moorings and afloat maintenance in the U.S. 5th and 7th Fleet areas of responsibility.
