The USS Somerset (LPD-25) arrived in San Francisco on Oct. 5, 2015 as part of San Francisco Fleet Week 2015. The Somerset traveled along the South Bay and under the Golden Gate Bridge to dock at San Francisco Pier 30-32.
Beginning in 1981, San Francisco Fleet Week has been hosted by the city for 35 years. For many years, Fleet Week has given civilians in major cities the opportunity to embrace and experience some of the U.S. armed forces naval capabilities. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Cuong Le/Released)
