151005-N-SD965-358 NAVAL STATION ROTA, Spain (Oct. 5, 2015) Engineering Aide 2nd Class Kerby Cange, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 1, scoops wet concrete into a cylinder for a concrete compression test during a concrete placement on Naval Station Rota, Spain, Oct. 5, 2015. A concrete compression test measures the breaking point of concrete in pounds for square inch after the concrete has cured. The concrete placement was for a Shipboard Electronic Systems Evaluation Facilities project, and the facility will be used to provide test and evaluation services to U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and Military Sealift Command activities as well as allied foreign navies.
