151028-N-YD641-136 WATERS TO THE EAST OF THE KOREAN PENINSULA (Oct. 28, 2015) Guests from Republic of Korea (ROK) observe an F/A-18E Super Hornet from the "Royal Maces" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 27 as it launches from the flight deck of the U.S. Navy's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) during a distinguished visitor embark. Ronald Reagan is participating in bilateral training with ROK Navy to strengthen the U.S.-ROK alliance and improve regional stability. Ronald Reagan and its embarked air wing, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5, provide a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
