JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Oct. 27, 2015) – Hospitalman Madeline Holmes, of Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s neurology department, writes a motivational quote on a campaign banner during a National Disability Employment Awareness Month campaign, “Chalk the Walk,” at the hospital Oct. 27. The campaign, coordinated by the Navy Exchange, Naval Air Station Jacksonville’s multi-cultural committee, and Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s diversity committee, was organized to raise awareness of the many contributions of America’s workers with disabilities. “Chalk the Walk” provided hospital visitors and patients the opportunity to write motivational statements, or acknowledge disabled workers, in chalk on the hospital’s sidewalk or with markers on campaign banners. This year’s theme “My Disability is One Part of Who I Am,” marks the 70th anniversary. (U.S. Navy photo by Yan Kennon, Naval Hospital Jacksonville Public Affairs/Released).
