151102-N-SU278-176 WATERS OFF OKINAWA, Japan – Gunner’s Mate 3rd Class Jonathan Ward, from Forsyth, Ga., loads ammunition into a Mark 38 25mm cannon for a gunnery demonstration aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42). Germantown is hosting a “Tiger Cruise,” where family members and friends of the crew have a chance at a few days underway aboard the ship. Finishing up its fall patrol, Germantown completed Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 2015 with Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, Amphibious Landing Exercise (PHIBLEX) with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and Blue Chromite, a joint exercise with the U.S. Marine Corps.
